Introductions

So I just came across this website and thought I would stop in and say hello. Noticing that there was no Introduction thread I thought I would make one.

So hello,

I was a kickstarter for fate core after enjoying playing the dresden files rpg and really thinking Fate Core was going places. I've been impressed with the flexibility of the system and love the Bronze Rule/Fate Fractal idea and what can be done with it.

I wanted to stop in here and maybe help jumpstart the community here and get discussions started. Personally I have been working with my local group on a Naruto Hack that I am attempting to playtest more broadly. We created it after a couple of the members really wanted to play Naruto but when we tried the d20 version we didn't enjoy the process so we tried to create a Hack using fate core and the dresden files RPG.

One thing I'd love in a Fate community is some index of great situational and campaign aspects that I could work into my games and characters.

Great idea

An introduction thread is a great idea!

I read a lot about previous versions of Fate over the years. Seeing great reviews I asked a buddy of mind to pick it up at Gen Con. Since then I've been hooked.

There are a lot of great qualities. I really love the aspects. Also, the fact it's self-contained in one book is great. I really hate the book-bloat of games like Pathfinder and Shadowrun (amongst others). The other books just offer pre-made campaigns, rules variation and ideas to include in your game.

Im currently working on some guidelines (skill lists, extras) for running Traveller using Fate.

Just browsing

In a committed relationship with D&D 5E, right now, but FATE's on the list of possible next acts. I'm thinking that it would make a grand system for running an Eberron game. I'm mainly looking for ideas on how to run the game well, especially for making magic feel comfortable to folks who've been playing D&D since the 1980s.

Introductions

Hi, I'm John, I run the Youtube channel, blog and website for Red Dice Diaries, I'm a big fan of Fate and (along with Dungeon World) it is one of my top two favourite systems, I tend to run Accelerated a bit more than I do core, mainly because I run a lot of Fate one-shots and it seems easier for people who are less familiar with the system to get into it within the constraints of the one-shot timescale.

I generally advertise for players in Fate one-shots on the Tabletop RPG Oneshot Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/tabletoprpgoneshot/

Hey

Just found this after Traveller Dan's post today at G+, and it looks great.

I was once a frequent pbp-player but haven't had much time since the kids came, however, I dream about starting sometime soon. Ran into Fate Core a couple of years ago and have based my game project Fate of the Remnants on it, and have really fallen in love with the smoothness and potential of it. Hope to follow the threads here more in the future.
